Absolutely brilliant bit of kit. I was so confused trying to figure out which Arcadia ballast matched which tube for my son's new bearded dragon setup. This complete 18 inch reptile light fixture took all the headache away. Plugged in and working perfectly.
Bought this tortoise uvb lamp for my Hermann's tortoise table. The mounting clips were really easy to screw into the wood, and the light output is fantastic. Delivery was super quick too, arrived the next morning.
As an exotics vet, I see far too many cases of MBD due to poor lighting. I highly recommend complete kits like this to my clients because it removes the barrier to entry. The 10.0 output on this 15w uvb tube light is exactly what desert species require.
The light itself is great and my beardie seems much more active since I installed it. My only minor gripe is that the 1.5m cable was just a tiny bit short for where my plug socket is, so I had to use an extension lead. Otherwise, a solid terrarium uvb lighting kit.
Used Exo Terra for years but got fed up with the price of their canopies. This t8 reptile uvb light kit is half the price and does exactly the same job. The electronic ballast means there's no annoying flickering when you turn it on either.
Good quality lizard vivarium light. Instructions were clear and it fits nicely into my 3ft setup. Would love to see a version with a built-in reflector in the future, but for the price, you really can't complain.
Installation Guide
- Identify the mounting location on the ceiling of your wooden vivarium, ensuring it sits above the basking zone.
- Screw the two included mounting clips into the wood, spaced to match the length of the fixture.
- Snap the 18-inch fixture firmly into the mounting clips.
- Carefully insert the 15W UVB tube into the fixture and twist 90 degrees until it clicks into place.
- Plug the mains cable into a standard UK socket or timer plug. Ensure the light is on for 10-12 hours a day.
- Remember: UVB cannot penetrate glass or plastic. Ensure there is a direct line of sight between the tube and your reptile.
